Our last 2 matches have seen us lose 1-0 away to both Vale of Leithen and Gretna. Both are good sides and are difficult grounds to get anything from. However, I feel a bit aggrieved that we have come away with nothing to show for our considerable efforts. In the Vale match we played some decent stuff and created numerous chances, but couldn't find the back of the net. It was a first minute goal conceded that ultimately cost us the game. It was the same story last weekend as we showed a fair bit of quality and battled away, but this time succumbed to an quality finish in extra time. In situations like this you often worry that the team has suffered a drop in confidence. However, I have no such concerns, as the players remain positive and determined to give their all against Stirling University. I watched Stirling 3 weeks ago against Ormiston and they are a strong side. They've kept many of the side that performed well last year, as well as adding a few more quality atacking players. Ofcourse, this will be a tough encounter for us today, but these are the games we all want to be involved in... and we will do our utmost to get the win. |
