Despite a bumpy pitch, and some poor refereeing decisions Craigie earned a vital three points , and extended their lead at the top of the first division.
They got off to the perfect start when Kevin Robertson returned a home clearance, and James Binnie's flick sent Stevie Manson clear, and despite claims for offside he easily beat home keeper David Simmonds.
Craigie were unable to build on their lead, and both sides were unable to create many clear chances until just after the half hour mark when Peter Shearlaw's free kick for Peebles beat Craig Weir but hit the far post and was cleared.
Craigie were almost gifted a second goal just before half time but home defender Paul Welsh's sliced clearance went just past his own goal.
The home side almost equalised just after the interval when Nicky Cairns sent Shearlaw through on goal despite looking offside but Weir saved well but the they were not to be denied, and when a cross rebounded off a Craigie defender home skipper David Knox shot past Weir.
Craigie responded well, and soon regained the lead when Ryan McKenzie found Manson, and his cross beat Simmonds but rebounded off the crossbar however David Anderson was following up, and volleyed in.
John Lawson then forced a good save from Simmonds as they looked to add to their lead but they were dealt a blow when Stuart Martin was shown a straight red card for comments to the referee but they added a third goal when they were awarded a soft looking penalty for a foul on new signing Marc Robertson who took the kick himself, and although Simmonds saved his initial effort he netted the rebound.
After being reduced to ten men through injuries the home side were then reduced to nine when Cairns was shown a second yellow card but to their credit they kept fighting, and pulled a goal back in injury time when Shearlaw was again allowed to run clear despite looking offside, and this time his shot beat Weir but there was no time for them to equalise.
