After struggling in the league against the same opponents two weeks ago, Craigie easily brushed aside their hosts challenge to set up a local derby against Civil Service Strollers in the next round.
They took an early lead when Craig Weir's long clearance was headed on by Lloyd Dignan to Stuart Martin who shot low past Steven Walker in the home goal.
A burst of three goals in ten minutes then killed the match as a contest. Sammy Hassan picked up a Craigie clearance, and ran half the length of the pitch before squaring for Sean Martin to tap in then Martin added his second when Walker could only parry a Dignan shot before Stuart Martin added his second taking advantage of Walker's poor clearance.
The home side pulled a goal back through Gavin Watson's well placed free kick but Craigie restored their four goal lead when Stevie Sproule's cross was returned by Sean Martin for Hassan to score.
Walker then saved well from Dignan as Craigie looked like scoring at will.
Sproule and Hassan shot past early in the second half but it was Hawick who scored next as a quick throw found sub Steven Noble unmarked in the penalty box and he finished well.
This seemed to spur Craigie back into life, and they scored again when Stuart Martin took a short corner to sub Gary Georgeson, and he cut inside to shoot into the far corner despite a defenders attempt to clear off the line, and they added a seventh minutes later when Walker could only parry Sean Martin's header leaving John Lawson with a tap in.
