A much improved second half performance saw Craigie earn a vital three points, and keep alive their hopes of promotion.
An uninspiring opening to the match wasnt helped by a bumpy pitch and a swirling wind, and the wind played a major part in Kelso's opening goal when Craig Weir was caught out by Niall McGurn's free kick, and was helpless to prevent it finding the net.
Set pieces were the home sides main threat, and they almost added a second when Steven Tait's free kick found its way through to Derek Burnett at the far post but he shot over.
Craigie began to come more into the match towards half time, and from their first real chance equalised when John Lawson's pass was touched by Marc Robertson into the path of Stuart Martin who finished well past Scott Dowie in the home goal.
They started the second half well, and were rewarded when James Binnie's corner wasnt cleared by the home defence, and Kevin Robertson did well to return the ball across goal, and Marc Robertson applied the finishing touch with a cheeky back heel, and they same player then forced Dowie into action as Craigie looked for a third goal.
Kelso as in the first half looked to set pieces as their main threat to Craigie's goal, and Stuart Harker headed past from a McGurn corner but it was Craigie who closest to the next goal when Lloyd Dignan's speculative lob beat Dowie but went narrowly past, and Dignan involved in Craigie's third goal when his excellent left wing cross was headed over Dowie by Stevie Manson.
The home side almost set up a nervy final few minutes when Damian McNulty forced a fingertip save from Weir, and from the resultant corner Harker headed narrowly over but Craigie held on for victory. |
