Craigroyston put up a battling performance but missed chances cost them the chance of victory against their premier league opponents.
Neither side was able to create a clear cut chance until midway through the first half when home keeper Kevin Swain was forced to save at the feet of David Anderson before the same player headed over when well placed.
Lothian were then reduced to ten men when Wayne McIntosh was shown a straight a red card for kicking out at visiting keeper Craig Weir.
This seemed to kick the home side into life and Weir was forced into a good low save from Stewart O'Neill but Craigie should have taken the lead when Stevie Manson was brought down in the penalty area but Swain saved Anderson's penalty, and they were almost made to pay for this miss as Lothian's next attack saw Kyle Hay cleared off the line fron O'Neill.
Craigie were dealt a blow early in the second half when Stevie Sproule was shown a red card, and with numbers even Lothian began to gain control, and they took the lead when they won the ball in midfield, and Mike Herd, and Gary Black combined before Herd shot high into the Craigie net.
David Jeffrey came close to an equaliser after a fine run, and combination with Manson but Lothian clinched victory in the closing minutes when Jordan Hall took advantage of slack play in the Craigie defence to lob Weir.
