This defeat while not ending Craigie's hopes of promotion certainly puts a severe dent in them, and at the same time gives their opponents hopes a massive boost.
Craigie had the first goal attempt but Lloyd Dignan's free kick went harmlessly over, and the Vale's early attempts came from Aaron Sdmmerville who first shot wide then over Craig Weir's crossbar.
James Binnie sent over a good cross for the home side but Stevie Manson was just unable to reach it.
Kyle Hay saw his free kick saved by Vale keeper Darren Walker at the second attempt but neither side were able to create any clear chances to threaten their opponents goal.
Vale should have taken the lead just before half time when Craigie switched off at a throw, and Andy Martin set up Scott Moffat but he mishit his shot from in front of goal.
Martin again set up the chance of the opening goal early in the second half but Paul Greenhill headed wide, and Martin was again involved just after the hour mark when his shot was deflected into the path of unmarked sub Darren Gillon but Weir made a tremendous save from his point blank effort.
But it was Craigie who almost broke the deadlock when Stevie Sproule's free kick was returned across goal by Dignan to David Anderson whose volley beat Walker but rebounded from the post and was cleared then moments later sub Marc Robertson saw his header deflected for a corner.
Just as Craigie seemed to be getting on top they were dealt a blow when sub Ousman Sonko robbed a Craigie defender, and sent Moffat clear, and he finished well past Weir.
Vale looked for a quick second, and Sommerville forced a good low save from Weir but he was helpless minutes later when a Craigie corner was cleared, and a quick break ended with Andrew Cook finding the corner of the net to seal victory for the visitors.
