A much changed Craigie side saw off their border hosts to move into the next round of the Alex Jack cup.
Jamie Paterson's run ended with a shot saved by Scott Dowie before Craig Weir was called into action at the other end to hold Barry Rayson's deflected free kick.
It was Weir's clearance that led to the opener when Graham Hare touched on his clearance which the home defence missed' and allowed Sammy Hassan to run through unchallenged to easily beat Dowie.
Hare then had an effort disallowed for offside following a well worked free kick between Kyle Hay and Stevie Sproule.
Andy Dewar saw an effort deflected for a corner, and a good run by Sproule set up Hare but he was denied by a last gasp challenge as Craigie dominated the first half without adding to their early goal.
Mark Steigers headed over for Kelso early in the second half before Graeme Bernardi missed a chance to double the lead but Dowie saved well then Steigers hit the top of the bar with another header.
Stuart Martin shot past before Dewar hit the post with a 25 yard effort but they eventually added a second and sealed the win when Hay's free kick ws headed by sub Lloyd Dignan into the path of an unmarked Martin and despite claims for offside he rounded Dowie to score easily.
The hosts were then reduced to ten men when Mark Lockhart was shown a second yellow card before Weir made an excellent save to deny Steigers a consolation goal.
Craigie despite not playing as well as in recent games easily won this game, and now go on to face Premier Division Lothian Thistle at home in the next round. |
