29/07/2008 - Managers report
After our convincing 7-1 win away to Penicuik Amateurs, the last 2 matches against Hibs U19's and Keith FC have produced mixed performances.

The first half against Hibs was particularly difficult for the players involved.  The Hibs players were extremely fit as you would expect from professional full-time footballers but they had no shortage of ability either, and made us chase shadows until half time!  3-0 down at the break, I was nervous that we would take a real hiding but credit to the players as they showed a great improvement in the 2nd half, keeping better possession, creating a few chances, and importantly stopping the opposition from scoring.

The game against Keith on Saturday was always going to be a tough match for us.  They were runners-up in the Highland league last season and have strengthened again for the season ahead.  I thought we were excellent in the first half.  Keeping good possession of the ball as well as being very organised in defence.  We created a few chances but know we should have been doing better with our final ball and finishing.  0-0 at half-time I was hoping that we could build on our first half performance.  However, we had a very poor start after the interval conceding 2 early goals.  We were sloppy with the ball and this cost us any chance of getting a result.  The last 15 minutes were encouraging but we couldn't take our chances leaving us disappointed with the final scoreline.

Overall, I've been pleased with how the team is coming together.  As I've told the players, it will take time for us to get to where we want to be but I'm happy with the efforts shown by the players so far.   We play St.Bernards on Saturday in our final warm-up match before the season gets under way. I'll be looking for a performance and our first goals at St.Marks.

27/07/2008 - Spirited performance from Craigie

Craigie lost 2-0 to a very strong and experienced Keith side. Players can only learn from playing teams this quality. The team were unlucky not to take something from the game, but showed good fitness levels on a very hot day.

After an even first half a slack opening 10 minutes to the second saw the visitors score twice through Gary Harris as they showed their experience but to the young home sides credit they never gave up and were still going strong at the final whistle.

24/07/2008 - Hibs U/19 to strong
Craigie went down 3-0 to a very good Hibs side, in front of a large crowd at St Marks.
